Brian Lord Bio and Promotional Information

Instead of displaying the information right here I have made all of my promotional materials into dot JPG (picture) files which you can download and save onto your computer and print out any time you need to - much more convenient for you.

You will need a JPG file reader like Microsoft Photo Editor (Standard with Windows) to see them - or any other photo editing program. Just try double left clicking on the JPG files once you've downloaded them. If you have a program installed to read them (which is most likely) it will start up and show you the information which you should be able to print out.

All files will soon be available in dot PDF format.

  1. Right Click on the item's link you want to download and a drop down list will appear.

  2. From the drop down list Left Click on "Save Target As" and then the "Save As" box will appear.

  3. Now select a location on your computer to save the file to. You may also rename the file now if you want to but make sure you leave the .jpg at the end of the new name if you rename it.

Most files are around 1 to 2 MB.

"My Bare Hands" was Brian Lord's first major release after the Asia/Pacific region's Toyota Starmaker Competition held in Tamworth, Australia's Country Music Capital, each January or February.

The Toyota Starmaker Competition, only seeks the ultimate 20 up and coming Country Music Artists from the Asia/Pacific region who are then invited to perform two songs each in front of a packed crowd of some 700 plus people at the Tamworth Town Hall during the year 2000 Tamworth Country Music Festival. A panel of industry judges then select the Toyota Starmaker winner.

After being invited Brian performed excellent renditions of "My Bare Hands" and an as yet unreleased acoustic song called "She Thought Of Everything" - the only competitor to stay true to his fans and perform two original songs. Brian gained much exposure and hundreds of new fans from his natural and true performance but was overlooked by the judges as the winner.

Shortly thereafter in 2000 Brian recorded his first two major singles and released the, two single CD entitled "My Bare Hands / Love Had The Last Word" to critical acclaim in 2001.

The 2002 Victorian Country Music Awards saw the National Radio Singles "My Bare Hands" and "Love Had The Last Word" receiving a total of 3 nominations (Victorian and Open sections). "My Bare Hands" was nominated in the Victorian Male Vocal and Open Heritage Song sections whilst "Love Had The Last Word" - a duet with Queenslander Kaylene Newton - was nominated in the Open Duet section. Brian and Kaylene were invited to and performed their duet at the awards night gaining yet more fans.

3rd Release / 2nd Major Release - 2002

Nearing Mid 2002 saw the release of Brian Lord's latest National Radio Single "Finders Keepers".

"Finders Keepers" has a typically American Country Music sound and was written by Brian's friend and Bass Player, Paul Miller in collaboration with their mutual friend and songwriter Teena Eaton from Pennsylvania, USA.

A song with a great boyhood story "Finders Keepers" never fully received the radio play it deserves which was in part due to Brian having to pull back from the Country Music industry for a time due to urgent family reasons. "Finders Keepers" will be re-released as a bonus track with Brian Lord's next National Radio singles in the near future.

Listen to a sample of the National Radio Single "Finders Keepers" below.

Demo 2003

Following is a mixed demo for Brian Lord. It is 5 minutes and 25 seconds long and contains samples of 4 songs all in one track in this order...

1) My Bare Hands
2) Finders Keepers
3) She Thought Of Everything - Brian Lord (Unreleased)
                            {Written by Ron Irving [USA] & Kenny Hess [USA] and Published by Rim Music Group}
4) Truckin' All Over Australia - Brian Lord 'Live' (Unreleased) {Written by Brian Lord & Peter Eastham [AU]}

(Note -  When playing the demo below; if you have a slow connection it can take a few minutes or more before they start so please be patient. ADSL and Cable connections should start to play within around 30 seconds to a minute or less.)

"Brian Lord Demo 2003"
(Studio and 'Live' Demo - 5'25")

The 3rd song is not yet released and was one of the songs Brian performed for the Starmaker Finals. The sample version included on this demo was taken from the Starmaker entry demo - hence the lesser quality.

The 4th song is also not yet released and was recorded 'Live' at the Whittlesea Country Music Festival in 2002 on a handheld digital camera on a tripod in front of the stage - hence the lesser 'Live' quality.
